I am another person who has looked for mud flaps. I am looking to put some on sooner rather than later, and thanks to these awesome diagrams, I know about what size to work with. I have been considering sourcing flat rubber deals from a parts store and cutting them if need be to be the approximate width and length.

Has anyone ever done this? How important is that metal bracket part? I have never put mudflaps on anything other than a large truck. Those are quite straightforward. This seems like it could be ok; maybe I will need to get some longer hardware.

I have considered getting ones that are 12x18, and also getting one much larger road tractor flap and cutting it down into four. These are typically much thicker than necessary for a pickup, though.

Thanks for any input! Pictures of aftermarket deals would be great.

It is on my TO DO list, but somehow I keep putting it off.

I'm thinking that some big fender washers should work where those brackets go.

You need to start your own thread, you can't ask a question that is not related to the topic you are posting in, first of all no one will see it because the topic you want to ask about is different than the one you are asking in.
