I just bought a bluetooth OBD reader for my 97 hardbody. Gonna plug her in this weekend. What are the differences in checking codes with the scanner? Plug in the scanner, turn on the ignition, start up the app on my phone and it should give me number codes I can reference off this post?

OBD2, what your truck has, did not start until 1996. The rest of us have to count the blinking lights.

Your reader should just tell you what the codes are, so you won't need this thread.
