Are there any difference in the master cylinders?? I know when I swapped out my 240sx brakes for 300zx ones swapping out the 300zx master cylinder gave it alot firmer pedal which I liked alot.

yeah every since this swap my pedal goes to the floor sometimes and i have to pump the pedal once or twice to get it back. i bled the brakes all around and fluid was fine, as was my wheel cylinders in the rear. so all i can figure is my master cylinder is going bad? should we swap masters when we do this swap?

I have done the swap on 3 trucks all 97 models
I never had a problem with the stock master cyl but there is probably a difference

Yours may be going out (nothing to do with the swap) based on your description

page br-34 of the 1990 fsm...

same bore, but ka24 mc has a built in prop valve where the vg30 has the seperate prop valve under the bed. prop valve split points vary between 2wd, 4wd and pathy models.

likely other changes for post 1993 abs models.

Been a while since I have been on the forums. Seems like everybody is on the right track now. Calipers from a 2WD v6 pickup, 2WD or 4WD pathy will work. They are all the same. But as mentioned previously the rotors are the main difference as well as the pads. Just in case it was not covered, the ones that are correct for a pickup will be 2WD v6 hardbody rotors and pads. Master cylinder wont make a difference. There are some that we can change to, such as the 300zx but they will require some modification to work correctly. One thing that you will notice after the upgrade is some increased nose dive, but over time you will learn to balance your foot with the new found stopping power.
