Thanks a lot for all the info. I will use the wiring harness boot -- where is the best place to look for the wire on the cab side?

Hi Asher,
It should exit between the fan and the kick panel. If you locate the factory wire harness that runs up the passenger kick panel/a pillar area, the new wire should come out in that same area, when inserted from the engine bay....

For what it's worth:
There's one on the passenger side that looks like the one in the picture above. The small one near the door hinges. That is where the antenna cable runs into the cab.
It's pretty easy to access with the door open. You can access the area between the inner and outer fender by unscrewing the plastic splash shield.
