I like the idea of going with a V8 in one of these little trucks.

Most of those projects I see, however, never make it to a completed vehicle.

I believe david29 is still working on getting his rig completed, too.

Kindof be a shame to do a swap on a rare configuration truck like that one. There's a ton of non-running KA24 trucks around here that would work for that for a couple hundred bucks lol.

I say keep it the way it is. Remove crappy TBI stuff. Get a Redline(Weber) 2 barrel carb swap kit, Performance Distributor especially made for this swap, add some headers, and run the shit out of it.

but i do have an update.....i got a battery and decided to fool around with it for a little while. it needs a throttle body. the harness where it plugs on to the injectors is fucked on this one. the connections are all broken. i tried to start it with some start fluid and it spit a flame out of the throttle body. the injectors are dumping fuel and it went poof so i stopped messing with it for now. and i can tell its happened before............the protective insulation that is wrapped around the wiper wire harness and the brake fluid sensor is all charred. everything works.....all lights, wipers, door locks, windows and mirrors so there isnt any damage to the wiring. i wanna replace the throttle body and check the timing before i mess with it anymore. dont wanna burn the bitch to the ground LOL

so i asked foul mouth if he has a spare throttle body off his parts v6 he is stripping. hopefully he still has it and i can go from there. im ordering a timing light now. it sounds like it is a little out of time while trying to crank, and that would explain the fireball. its got several new parts under the hood, so someone might have messed something up.

i spent all my weekly extra cash towing it here and getting the battery, so i will wait until next weekend. then i will check the plugs and all that stuff. the wires, cap and rotor are new and the coil sounded like a taser popping when i checked it prior to attempting to start the engine.

i also need to smog diaphragm thing. it looks like it rusted and exploded. there isnt anything left but the part where the big hose connects. that might be part of the start problem too. or i might research on deleting that thing.

more to come.......
I thought you was going to part it out
