Default Interior door handle trim pieces

Okay, so my question is very simple. There is a thick side and a thin side to the door handle trim, which side goes toward the top? Thick or thin? They fit both ways. Thanks guys.

I’ve always put the thin side up and the thick, tapered side down.

Thanks, I think because mine have been pulled so many times over the life of my truck it’s hard to tell where they used to be.
