Any updates on your project? Just spent the last 3 hours going over the whole thread and I am beyond impressed. I can't wait to tear into mine when money allows

Not really, the motor was finished several months ago but have not had a chance to pick it up. Life has gotten in they way and until the doc clears me to drive again a bit depressed about it.

I will get back to it, I hoped to be fully painted and done by now but besides getting the motor completed nothing has happened besides the air has leaked out of the tires and the bed cover has become a shelf for a few garage items.

Depending on a few things I expect in the next 12 months to at least have a plan because the wife knows it's my passion and things have not been exactly running smooth you might say. She supports me to do something I enjoy but have a few hurdles to overcome before then.

That is a loaded question. What type rims are you running? Are you doing a body drop? Are you doing the work or paying someone to do it? Even if you do most of the work yourself its going to be a minimum of around $3k, if you are not doing the work I would expect around twice that for a good job. (Meaning that if something did go wrong the shop would fix the problem. For instance when I got hydro's, on the way home from picking up the truck I had a line blow. It was a defect from the parts they received and not a "shop mistake". They replaced all my lines for free).

If you find good used parts and know what your shopping for you might be able to reduce the $3k down to around $1200-1800 but think unless you find some free parts that about as low as you can get.

This is if bagging the truck is all you are doing. Getting a custom frame uh...they bill by the hour and that can vary by a large margin.

This brings to another thing, expect something to go wrong. No shop is perfect and parts can be defective from the factory. If you plain to use this is a daily, have a backup plan for at least a few weeks until the bugs get worked out.

I have not done any work to my truck other than maint issues. I would not be the one to ask really.

EDIT, since this post photof*cket has screwed over everyone. I will go back and put the pics back but it will take a while.

Well I think I have updated everything I can, some photos were lost. I will run back over the thread later but right now my eyes are all screwed up trying to fix it.

Man how time flies and its been almost a year and a half since my last update.

Now that I am out of the hospital I can focus a bit more on this. Besides clean out the spider webs and make an appointment for a few frame modifications I haven't done anything to it. I have though starting attending local shows, one of the reasons I built it. I have a water leak under my intake manifold so until I fix that about 10 miles is my limit. I now have the intake gasket when I have to remove the manifold but not sure what I will find underneath. I have a show this weekend I might attend and don't want to have to "overnight parts from japan" to make the show. It would be my luck that would happen.

Besides the water leak, truck ran great. I did drain the tank and oil the cams before I started it up.

Here a pic from a few weeks ago:

Just read this entire thread last night and this morning.

Amazing work! Also cool to see this one still going! Sucks to start reading a build just to find it never got finished or enjoyed. Sounds like the truck is a testament to overcoming any problem that rears its ugly head!
