CEL is generally only for emissions related issues.

What temp sensor? You'll have 2. One for the ECM and one for the dash.

What engine, KA24E or VG30E?

If the Engine Temperature Sensor or Air Temperature Sensor sends a reading that is below or above the specified values, your ECU goes into Fail-safe mode (d21_truck_1990.pdf EF & EC-188).

d21_truck_1990.pdf: https://app.box.com/s/iiz6amr6qygiplu2v8jzyf0ix3vmm1w5

The Diagnostic Procedure for the Engine Temperature Sensor is on EF & EC-260. Code 13.

The Diagnostic Procedure for the Air Temperature Sensor is EF & EC-278. Code 41.

Tests for Engine Temperature Sensor is on EF & EC-314.

Tests for Air Temperature Sensor is on EF & EC-320.

Basically, if the wiring is OK, you replace the sensors.

Guam? Nice memories. I lived there for three years when I was just a kid. And that was so long ago that my stepbrother Larry and I used to play 'Army' with our friends in the jungle above the Apra Heights housing complex. My dad pumped jet fuel as a civilian worker at Anderson AFB.

Rifle brass was everywhere. So were the remains of Japanese tanks and artillery pieces, which we used in games. You just had to watch out for snakes living in the tanks LOL.

My dad took us to the drive in theater on weekends for a buck a carload.

One of our friends was killed (along with his mother) because he collected unexploded shells and one of them went off in the house. That's when the Army Ordinance boys started cleaning up the island. Took them years.

You can't call the natives 'Guamanians' anymore. It's proper to call them Chimmoras now. (sic)

We finally left a couple of days before Typhoon Cathy struck. (Google it) There was some warning, thank God.

It is a beautiful place, indeed. Bigger now, though. Maybe 20K people when we lived there, now over 100,000 residents.

Welcome to Infamous.
