KA24DE gas tank capacity 15.9
V6 gas tank capacity 19.4 Since I am putting a turbo on KA24DE I am want to go with a larger gas tank. I would like to know if anyone has put the larger V6 gas tank on the 4 cyl truck. It should be a bolt on affair, but I am just asking |

actually the v6 also has the 16 gal tank. the 20 gal was on 4wd trucks. Still iffy on if it will bolt in with the 4wd brackets given that the 4wd frame is 1" taller and different.

I checked with Nissan and on Car-parts.com and they have the listing like this 4 cylinder Frontier = 15.9 6 cylinder and 4x4 Frontier ( All Xterra 4 cyl, 6 cyl and 4x4 ) = 19.4 As far as fittment that is another question. |

I agree with Andreas, fitment is going to be an issue, unless you're relocating it anyway. I have the larger capacity pathy tank in my truck, and the stock pump bolted right up. The worst that could happen is it doesn't work, so you put your stock one or a fuel cell in. I say give er hell and try it!

not 100% on this but it seems the fittment area for both the 6 cyl and 4 cyl are the same. They share the same bed and eventhough the frame is diffrent those diffrences seem to be up front more than out back |

You are correct with the difference being in the front. Not that it matters, I have a 93 SE V6 KC 4X4 with towing package and mine started to rust thru in the middle. I found a nice tank at a local yard for $10 laying in the bed of another 4X4 that had the 4 cyl. After getting it home I realized it was too short. The rear section of the tanks are the same, the front was shorter. The shorter tank uses an adapter plate to make up the length difference. I ended up just buying a brand new one from Nissan. Here is a picture of the two tanks so you can see the difference.

Thank you very much for your info and pics. I will be heading out next weekend to get a 19.4 gallon tank, and while I have it out I will be putting in a high flow Walbo fuel pump to handle the turbochargered 300 WHP to come.

I was going by Hardbody specs from the factory brochure. You didn't say Frontier and I overlooked _de. Oops.

Could have been a swap, that's common. Or you could have been wrong and meant ka24e, that's common too. But the Frontier was the only truck to come stock with the ka24de.
Lesson learned is ALWAYS specify what the vehicle is when asking questions so those trying to help you can give accurate answers.
