Default fuel gauge not working.....

so ive just about got the ka swap done in my 87 hb. got the wiring harness in from the 93 donor truck and got most everything hooked up. problem is, my fuel gauge is sitting on full when i know theres only about 1/4 of a tank in it... my question is, is there enough of a difference in the resistance values between the 87 sending unit i have and the 93 cluster? thanks in advance for the help guys

Yes, but it should work...At least it does in my truck. I have a 92 with a 94+ dash swap. The fuel gauge is a little bit wonky, but works correctly.

If +0 volts is empty, then it is the same...But I think the "full" voltage is different on the two it seems. My gauge now reads full when full and empty when empty correctly, but the needle moves fast at first and gets slower as it get to empty. If that makes sense.
