^^^ This. A torch works to burn the remnants out, and since they aren't near the truck when you take them out no risk there. I drilled mine out as many times as possible and knocked the centers out. Then chiseled out what I could with various tools, and cleaned the holes with a wire brush slightly larger than the hole.

Any luck with the LCA bushings? It seems intimidating but it's not really that bad, just time intensive.
