Is it one of the Lifan motors? Most of those Chinese 125 bikes use close to the same engine. You can put a bigger carb (I think 24mm?) on them and it sorts out some bogging and really opens the top...

They work fine in certain things. Snowmobiles have used CVTs for decades with good results. Other things they just suck. I wouldn't have one in a car or on a motorcycle myself.
