One of my little hood vent thingies flew off while going ~70mph on the highway. Gave me quite a scare when that hit the window. I tried to find it but I have no idea where it went. Sad times.

The VG engines have a timing belt rather than a chain. That belt can be noisy if it's too tight. I overtightened mine on the last go round and had to take all that crap back off again to loosen it...

You can braze the crack closed, or if you have a local hose/pipe specialist (ask an AC repair shop for one if you can't find one yourself) they can fix it up for you.

I think 94+ are the ones with check engine lights. The rest of them you just have to pay attention to how it's running and check the ECU for error codes if you suspect something's wrong.

lol Yeah, I've got 4. The D21 was $650, the 190D was $1800, the donor Benz (300SD) was $700, and the E350 was $16.5k. The tags for everything but the E350 are just $27/yr.
