I have a one piece off amazon also. Been on the truck for a year now and is holding up well. I coated the back side of it with undercoating to prevent rust. I paid $102 and I'm happy with it.

Mine is still going strong 3yrs after rebuild. I think the kit was 15 bucks on ebay. It wasn't hard and I figured I would take more care than anyone else would. No regrets on the rebuild here.

SBJ, Mr. Jim suggested not to use his spacer on a new timing set. He suggest to wait until after chain break in. He said 20 hrs is usual break in period. Just a heads up.

Today the battery and starter decided to crap...

Today the battery and starter decided to crap out. Put in a new battery and still no start. Luckily I saved the receipt on the starter. Thank god for a manual trans.

Just add a ground wire to the maf ground wire, and ground it to the inner fender or whatever fits your needs. As simple as it sounds.

You need to adjust the iacv. It's on the back of the manifold on the passenger side. Turn the screw in or out to adjust, should be set to 800 rpm.

Finally got the trans fluid changed. Checked the oil also and still not burning any. Still full after a month, so that is good. Means all my previous oil consumption was the valve seals.

It's easier to take the mounts off the arm, then knock the bolts through. Then line the mounts up on the bolts and reinstall to the arm. It's hard to line the splines up the way you are trying.

It should just push down and catch the lip...

It should just push down and catch the lip running aroung the outside of the shifter hole. There should be a reusable zip tie to keep it snug.
