Bypassing it entirely is also an option. All the clutch switch does is complete the ground for the starter relay. Just remember to put it in neutral first!

I am pretty sure the one in mine is a reman. No idea how old it is but it works. It's been in there at least 5 years, probably a lot longer. If it ever fails I'll make it a point to get a new one.
