Yea I think fiberglass will hold up and bond alot better, there are some strong Epoxies but with fiberglass you can make it pretty uniform and IMO stronger spanning an area verse bonding it.

Well the first time I did it in my old hardbody,...

Well the first time I did it in my old hardbody, I formed a piece of plastic with heat to match the contour and used a plastic welder that we had at my old job to fuse to the Bezel. That worked great...
