Exterior chrome windshield trim - top piece

Hi, thanks for your help. My 95 Nissan truck has three chrome trim pieces around the windshield, 2 sides and bottom, but the top trim is missing. I need to buy a new piece, and what to make sure I'm buying the right thing, or things... The sides and bottom clearly have screw fasteners, but I can't see how the top piece attaches, clearly it does not screw down like the other three components. I talked to a parts distributor who said I need the trim piece, and some clips, and then some other thing, maybe corner brackets? Anyway, if anyone can advise what I need to buy, and how it securely attached to the truck, I'd appreciate it. Returning stuff that doesn't work is a hassle, and sometimes not even possible. Thank you!

The top is just a self adhesive piece of rubber. Some of them have a chrome finish but it’s still just a rubber piece. It’s not a chrome/stainless metal trim like the sides and the bottom.

It is still available to order from nissan. https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/part...tra2=&filter=()

make sure you clean everything really good too, you may even wanna use a little silicone or something similar to help it stick better. been down that road myself.

Thanks very much to both of you. There is rubber down in that groove of course, the windshield gasket (?) is still there... Does this piece of rubber 'fit' into all the rubber channels that are on that gasket? Will it need to be cut to fit down in that slot?

try tis, here are some OEM part numbers
upper mldg (chrome) 72752-01G01 ($37 at dealer)
fastner strip 72725-01G00 ($19 at dealer)
both are still available from Nissan, hope it helps

The part 72752 says it comes with an adhesive strip attached. So is the part 72725 also needed? Is 72725 the adhesive strip? Simply put, do I need both parts?

Thanks very much.

Call your local Nissan Dealer, ask for Parts Dept and I would suspect they should be able to answer this and get the parts heading in your direction... all with one call.

I'll be interested to hear your results. I need to do the same.

used to sell the mldgs (years ago), but not the fastner, most glass shops use their own.. correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that part of the fastner is under the glass and the mldg press's into the rest of it.. I would use a black silicone press new mldg into it, tape it down until dry.. not sure if that is the correct way... maybe talk to a glass guy??

I replaced mine with the factory strip a couple months ago. In my case it was a bit smaller than the original so the adhesive didn't quite hold it in place. Some clear-drying silicone in the channel fixed that problem right up and it doesn't leak in the slightest.

I just noticed that my truck only has chrome on the sides and bottom.
