Just Did An Electric Fan Swap (With Finished Pics)

So I did the electric fan swap refferenced here: http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/...ead.php?t=7415

I got a water pump from a '78 Datsun 280z at a local parts place and found a used factory hardbody water pump pulley on ebay. Got myself a fresh new radiator cause my old one was pretty trashed and sifted through some used electric fans at my buddies work and came across a sweet setup from a Chevy Cobalt (2006 I think). Also I purchased an adjustable electric fan controller on amazon.

This here is my factory fan. It's horrible. one of the radiator mounts had broken loose before and let the radiator fall into the fan which is why the edges are so torn up. Also the clutch was seized so the fan was ALWAYS RUNNING and was also super freaking loud.

And here is the new fan and shroud mounted to the new radiator.

And here are some pics of the pump and pulley installed and then with everything installed.

NO SPACER NEEDED with the new pump and pulley setup. The new pulley is maybe 1/8th inch further forward than before, but the difference is so subtle that it makes no difference at all.

Looks great.

That's a really clean install. Back when I did mine I never got around to switching the water pump (because it was my daily driver and I was lazy) and I only took as much off the clutch fan and left the rest. Even with the slim style fan it was really close to hitting. The original radiators for the 720's are hard to come by these days.
