Kingcab 4x4 Pinion Angle
What is the stock pinion angle / perch angle on a D21 4x4 kingcab with H233B rear end?

Trying to measure it on the truck - as the truck sits in the not quite level parking lot - the pinion measures 1-2 degrees up and the perches measure 4 degrees down. So, if I levelled the perches, the pinion would be 5-6 degrees up. Does this sound right?

Plan to have new perches welded to an Xterra rear axle and want to keep the standard hardbody geometry since I have no vibration issues with my mild lift.

You want the pinion angle to be parallel with the transfer case angle. To check it, you can download a "level" app on your phone. Hold the phone against the t-case or trans some place that is parallel with the drive line and "zero it". Then move it to the flat flange on the H233B and read the difference. You want them to be within 3 of each other.

Thanks for the info. I’m good with the factory angles - my intent is to replicated it.

I know you also need to account for pinion twist under load - so for a daily driver that’s probably either highway cruising speeds or accelerating away from a stop.

You might be overthinking it. Acceleration is one condition, but braking is the opposite direction.
If you have that much torque/horsepower, add a traction bar. I had to do that with the V8 swap, but never had a problem with the Z24i. Not even when crawling in 4LO.
Set it parallel when static, or as close as you can get it, IMHO.

Thanks again - that all makes sense!
