Lifting a 1990 Atlas F22 4dr JDM

Attachment 5127Hi
I have a new to me truck arriving tomorrow. I am looking for advice of raising the suspension 2-3” Not sure they even make kits, RC only has for a D21 Looking to put new wheels and larger tires as well Nothing crazy big, just a little meaner stance |
What kind of suspension under it? Lifting leaf sprung vehicles is very easy.

Awesome.
So, it's been a while since I've seen some underside pics, but from what I remember, it was still a torsion bar setup, except the t-bars connect to the UCAs, not the LCAs. Low probability there's a lift kit, let alone t-bars, though. But, cranking the t-bars is surely an option. It also has a RH-drop R200 (uses same gears as all common low-pinion R200 and C200) and RH-drop TX12A transfer case. So at least that opens a lot of doors to other axle and suspension options if SAS'ing it is a possibility. Rear is an H233B. Got a pic of the VIN plate? TD27 5MT? |
That’s very damn cool
|
Yes leaf springs in the rear and control arms up front
It has the TD27 with a 5 speed manual PS and a/c too |

OVERLANDING!!! For the WIN!

It will mainly be a cruise around town and a support vehicle. Going from the house 5 minutes away to the marina, I have a boat with detroits and also an M925a2 w/ a cummins there as well. I'm always hauling stuff and tools. Suspension, wheels/tires, air system, stereo, extra battery for house bank, roof rack basket with solar panel, inverter, tint windows, look into adding a turbo as well |

I was originally looking at smaller JDM Kei trucks, then I saw this truck, it just checked all the boxes because of the diesel power. |
Maybe go with a body lift and leave the suspension angles all stock. You won't run into all the IFS lift-related problems.
