New Member in KCMO
 

Hello everyone.
I have owned a black 95 XE 5spd. 4×4 pickup since 2000, about 236k miles.
It's in pretty bad shape now. (As am I)
It's been sitting for about 6 months. I had planned on restoring it, but health issues may now prevent that.
I'm very torn about it.

Beaucoup rust damage.
The transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
I can no longer tackle those jobs, so I was going to pay someone to fix it.

Then the brakes went out, I think it's the master cylinder.
Bought one, then when I was going to move it to fix it, it started popping fuel pump fuses.

So, I've been battling back issues and procrastinating dropping the tank to check it, and now the tank is leaking gas.
I think the seam's corroded.

Other than that, it's a good truck.

Welcome to Infamous Nissan, I lived in Claycomo for 23 years, left 20 years ago. Since then I have not shoveled any snow and have repaired very little rust. I hope you won't be offended if I suggest finding a rust-free Nissan raised in the South, and hauling it home. Perhaps your vehicle has sentimental value? The money you would pay for rust repair alone would probably be equal to the freight bill. Add the 1400 bucks to get transmission rebuilt, you could afford air fare and a couple days at the beach, INCLUDING umbrella drinks. Just sayin'

It's not sentimental as much as I've kept the engine in good shape.
Replaced main oil seals, new timing belt & water pump, clutch.
Practically new A/T tires.
It's an extended cab & last year for the VG30E V6.
Similar ones in good shape are getting expensive.

I enjoy wrenching, but I'm turning 59 next month, and facing a possible 2nd back surgery, so it's getting to be more than I can handle.

I was thinking about turning it into a flatbed crawler.
It may end up on the Bring A Trailer site.

Welp, gotta go buy a Class B fire extinguisher and see what I can do.
