'93 SE-R with a couple mods

Howdy.

I bought the car new off the lot in 1993. They had the only Super Black one in Houston. I took my wife on our honeymoon in the car.

The SE-R was on Car & Drivers Top-10 every year it was produced from 1991-1994. It was and remains an all time great performance bargain.

:drink:

We'll start at the reason why my D21 has been moving at a snails pace.

Because Ashton at Ashton Automotive & Performance in Killeen was busy as hell with my B13 and fourteen bazillion other cars, including other "project cars" like mega-hp trucks. Big dollar, professionally built, honkin' turbo behemoths. Diesels and all manner of manly man trucks. He opened up, got swamped to the gills, got more help, got rid of some less helpful, and then moved to a 5K square foot shop all in about a year. Proud of my friend, my cars a playtoy and his other customers probably got to get to work. He is worth a 5 hour drive and waiting for his expertise.

My current favorite shot. I told Ashton to street tune it to perfection and drive it a ton. He promptly took it to Cars & Coffee. :eye popping::jawdropping::rofl2:

It will soon be riding some refinished SSR Type-C's. 15x6 1/2, +35. 8.1 pounds each. I'm having them done in some silver/titianium Nissan stock color. Wrap them in brand new 205/50 Re-71's.

Thanks man.

I'm biased but still love the lines. Always look back, always park it in sight at a restaurant. Still does it for me.

Should have about 300'ish whp, dyno hopefully Fri or Sat. Please, please, please. 2,400 pounds. Should be a hoot.

As it sits that is with a JDM sunny front and rear bumpers. Tin foil oem no-weight bumper support that is crash rated at "don't." MDM Tsuru Lightwerkz custom HID projectors, 15x7....ahem....flow formed 10.9 lb Traklites, shaved antennae, and otherwise stock. Have a Seibon CF hood and trunk in my shop but that's next go-round.

so how do you like working with the nismotronics?

Deerhurst 03-10-2019 03:41 PM

My tuner Ashton likes it well enough. I would be clueless. He's got my se-r purring. Smooth as silk under any and all conditions. Drive through with AC in August, road course, back road, stuck in traffic, oem-smooth.

Tons of folks in the B13 world use it on SR20 derivatives. Jon something (?) from Nismotronic is super helpful, always there for any necessary support. Dude is on it. Which all makes me happy.

Thanks. It's my mechanical love-child.

Wife says when I go, she's getting a backhoe and burying me in it.:eye popping:
