Well guys, Its my turn to start a build log. This is nissan number 2, I just got married and decided to sell my sports car and build another nissan.

This is day number one. The hood and roof had a lot of clear coat that was checking.

I've started to strip the roof and hood to bare metal

This is my buddy Julio that is helping me spray an acid etching primer to seal up the metal. After this comes primer.

I got the truck home. All the primer is finished. Notice, I also welded up the gas door?

I got a roll pan in from Sir Michaels. It took FOREVER but it came. I also have a handel flip kit to weld up my tailgate handle I haven't installed yet. This is just a test fit.

I got it all set, ready to weld and it started to rain hard core so i pulled into the paint booth to weld haha

I finished welding but decided to call it a day cause I didn't want to sand filler in the wet rainy day. Day 2 finished sanding the filler.

I then added acid eching primer to the bare metal followed by primer to the whole thing. Then a little gide coat. Notice, I also welded up the 3rd brake light?

Next up: Paint titan wheels and get tires. Install the bell-tech spindels i have and install the 3'' block and pull a leaf.

I have doug thorly headers im installing along with a header back exhaust.

What else? . . . Stay tuned to find out :D

Thanks for looking

I want to get the smooth wiper cowl from ICE. I am toying with shaving my front bumper. I am going to flair the bed sides and add 4x4 fenders so my wheels whill tuck. Then shave the antenna things like that.

I have all my lowering stuff just waitin on tires for my Titan wheels. I am going to paint them as well. and the poli. bushings.

After I finish my basic truck build I'd like to pay the truck off and save some money to bag it. I dont know anyone around my neck of the woods who will do it so its up in the air right now. After I bag it I will rebuild it as a show truck, weld the back end shut, shaved handels, fiberglass dash, kick panels etc lots of interier work.

It does smell but I actually like it haha.

are you working out of a self storage locker?

My boss started twenty three years ago sanding bumpers in a storage unit. He has over time made it a complete business with ac, office frame rack complete paint booth and mixing bank but yes, on the outside they look like storage units. If you see his setup you'd understand what im talking bout. He has been done all the work for the honda and toyota dearlerships for many years cause their own multi million dollar body shops dont turn out vehicles as well as we can. (the customers go to their body shops the dealership comes to us) We work on anything from old skool hot rods to motorcycles, range rovers to lambos and ferraris (sp) and anything in between. Most of what we do however is insurance work for people who wreck their cars.

The front of the complex has a bunch of shops in the back there are several as well. We are one of the shops in the back. The units look like seperate storage things but behind the doors they are all open as one massive shop room.

how do u like sir michels?

This is the first time Ive ever used sir michaels. I had everything from FBI on my last truck. Im not all that pleased with them to be completely honest. They "moved shops" aka downsized during my order so a 2 week roll pan took closer to 2 months to get to me. Not a big deal just a pain in the butt. The flip kit isn't anywhere close to right. The handle just wont fit in the backside of the gate. I assume they skrewed up welding it or something. They're supposed to get back to us on what is wrong. We sent digital pictures to them and haven't heard back.

Next go around I will probably use grants if they come recommended?

Sir michels used to be the good stuff back in the day I got a pan from them for my mazda about 10 years ago and it was perfect. But who knows everyone is hurting and cutting corners to sell a product. i buy everything from grant although i got some mirror fillers from Suicide doors and they were pretty good just needed a little trimming to make it work.
