I ripped out the dash on my 720 and found one of the screws snapped off inside the heater core. So anyway I wanna know if i can bypass the heater core and how? I live in Hawaii where the temp ranges from about 90 degrees to 80 degrees.

i have a friend who didn't hook the heater core up when he did his 302 swap so, yeah, you can get by without it.

take the two hoses at the firewall and get a hose splice and put them together
no water goes through the heater core, it wont leak

What they said. Just get a connector to spice the hoses, and you won't have a heater core anymore. You don't really need it except for running your heater.

sorry to bring up a old thread, but i need some advice on this, soo i get that you can put those 2 hoses together. But under the intake where those 2 hoses run, does that need to be capped off since the hoses no longer run to them ?

Both of the lines are spliced near the fire wall. I connected the lines coming from the engine together using one of the splices and left the hoses leading into the cab alone (no need to cap them off)
