how goes lads? thought id post up a build of my navara, not sure if you guys have these models in the states?

anyway its a 86 d21 dualcab running a z24 which needs some serious attention. ive only done minor things so far liike;

.pioneer headunit, 2 6" splits in the front doors
.removed bull bar, farmers bar and roof racks
.cleaned the engine bay and interior (found $26, a micro sd card and various keys)
.painted front grille and bumper
.boughts 14" navara stocks, painted black. waaay better then sunraysiers.
.would torsion bars down
.reset leaves flat with 2" blocks
.cut down bumpstops
.shaved the hooks of the tub before i realised how fucked it is; has rust holes all throught it, metal plates screwed in to cover the holes, a ton of bog and alot of foam filler. will be buying a new tub and using this one for filler plates with body line for the handles.

alsoo my leaf hangers a fucking looowww, trouble gettin in and out of my driveway!
ive been told i can redrill these and cut the bottom off so they arent so low but i need a template.. anyone have one or can make me one i can print off?

.more sound
.upgrade and paint interior; newer model dash, custom center console, new front seats, debating weather to cut my rear bench in half to allow for a custom sub/speaker box or leave it whole.
.fix up and smooth body
.find a new tub; full skin and shaved
.shave; door handles and lock, ariel, relocate fuel filler and holes where roof rack mounts were
.new; mirrors, tail lights and maybe head and crner lights, front end; grille bumper and valance/apron as all mine are fucked
.wheels; pajeros, chasers or similar
.notch and spindals
.engine upgrade
.paint
.other things will also happen just havent thought of them:D

then if im still interested in it...
.new rear clip
.4 link
.bagged front and rear or bagged rear coilover front.
.wheels
.more shaving
.bigger engine; LS1 or the like
.bodydrop and znotch to lay haaarrrdddd

anyway thats about it.. progress will be slow at first but all wil come together in time. will post pics and update as things happen... obviously.

pretty sure we have all the models down here from my front end then it was face lifterd to the terrano or hardbody front end then we have d22's d40s and titans but i think we call them something different.

im thinking about buying a spacecab and puttin my font end on guards and cutting out the old tub guards and molding mine onto it.

would love a photoshop of this if anyone can???

neat lil truck, yeah over here we only have the hb front on ours 87-97 you guys got the oddball front end for 3 years or something like that huh, and yeah you can swap the hb fenders (guards) hood, grill and bumper right on.

well printed of the template to cut my hangers today but before i did i took the tub off to find my exhaust is sitting on my diff,, if i redrill the hangers my exhaust will be crushed between the diff and cross member..

i was thinking about cutting these mounts(red) and re welding them lower on the exhaust so the exhaust sits higher, and cutting a notch(blue) in the crossmember so it can sit higher and not be caught between the diff and crossmember.

I'd say shorten the exhaust and run it out infront of the back wheel.

yea thats probably easiest...due to laws here mine had to go over the diff and dump out the back so i got tricky with my grinder and welder and made my exhasut(2.5") go up and over my exhaust and my diff is about 40mm from the chassis...it rattles everynow and then( cold mornings) but othewise fine :)

hey bro you can put your frront end on a king cab and graft your tub 1/4s on to a king cab tub it would look sick i will try and put the old model front nav on to my king cab at my mums and i will get a a pick it all bolts on if you can try and get a a singlee cab tub of your year model and cut it down

yea it will bolt over,but you have to do guards,lights,grill,bumper,hood latch the lot really.

some plugs will most likely not fit too,for the indicators,so will need to splice and match them up.

redrilled and cut my hangers. with the template if i had of measured up 2 inches and back 1/2 inch my leaf shackles would have been sittin on a fucked angle and would of hit with the leafs travel. so i just went up 2 inches and its fineee.
can finally go over speedhumps and not take chucks of it with me. still get some scraping from the exhaust, will try sort that out if i cant il just buy a new one and mount it higher.
only have these 2 pics. will get more when i clean it up and paint it

heres a pic of the hangers cut and cleaned up.
will most likely take the rear apart and paint the chassis, diff, all suspension leaves, shackles, ubolts etc and clean up\hide the wiring just to tidy it up abit.

Cops here kinda dont give a crap about our rides, well at least in washington state. as long as your not playing with your bags while driving around one of them your cool. I see people driving right next to cops with there rear bumper almost on the ground and the cop just doesnt care. They do care about rice rockets though. If your a honda-boy in washington your gonna get 1000 tickets.

not much of an update as i have nothing to fund the bus and other things have come up taking away pretty much al benjamins i get anyway but its something

well..

was going to sand back a few dents to get them bogged up but that soon turned into the "minitruck snowball effect" so now im putting the whole thing in primer to clean it up, hated the two tone just looked rancid. ive been inspiried by the japanese minitruck scene with the old mazdas and datsuns white with black front ends. so will be repainting mirrors, handles, grille, bumper,wipers and valance all black again. looking for a new colour no fucking idea what though.

been looking for a tub/bed but havent found anything which is annoying as fuck. may have to try and fix the one i have but that will be another story(will get pics of damage cause il need tips/advice/help on how to go about it)

made new door cards, just waiting on finding the right material. designs inspiried by IN.com itself.. hope you guys dont mind, will get pics of these too. also put in some new speakers now has 6inch in all doors will be getting slimline sub and amp soon too. new carpet will be coming soon aswell as painting dash and interior plastics/vinyl and whatever.

one more thing.. notch will be coming very soon too, its low enoughwell maybe could go an inch or so lower static.

only the single and double cabs had the pre face lift guards.many prefer to opt to swap out to the later model guards.

Kingcabs were the exception for everything...they featured the later model type plugs from the get go,later model guards,factory shaved decks only and tailgate to match.

I am still yet to see a rear slider window down here.i spotted one on a Nissan skystar (d22 with bodykit) but i doubt the dealer will want to swap me for a solid one haha.

well well long time no post. so i lost my licence and my job so sweet fuck all has happened with this besides a new bed been to busy with mates trucks.
anyway i was thinking once i get my licence and a job buy a daily and cut this thing up properly. i always wanted a kingcab but they never came out with these guards or front end..

sooo should i cut this in half in the middle of the rear doors take aout about 10 -12 inches and weld in back together so shorten chassis, lines, tailshaft all that aswell so its like a shorty kingcab but i can still open the rear doors but itl be sounds system/tools and all

sound like a good idea or what?

my nav king cab has a 86 single cab tub and front end will put pics up in a few weeks and bro about your leaf pack take your long load bearer and turn it the other way becase it will catch on shit had it hapen to me and it spun and got jamed and i had to do a side of the road fix

my doors arent to bad besides the bottom widown rubber is rusted and hanging off. id ship them if i didnt need them right now. im finding it hard enough to find parts for this where i am. il see how i go early next year when i get my licence and some money together

ive got the passenger key hole to shave and thats shaving done.
just have to smooth everything and get it in one colour.
contemplating welding the tailgate shut but leaving the gutters and hooks.
i kno minitruckin is to get it a smooth as possible but i want a practical truck aswell as a custom one as im always carting shit around for myself or mates.

I've wondered that too...If you shave the cowl, how does the a/c and heater get air? Isn't that where it pulls in air from?

yes it does as far as i can rememebr you have to have a free flow vent into the car the heater and air con might not work and might not be able to be registed in most states of nsw

theres a small gap at the front which would let a little bit through. it doesnt worry me i never used my ac/heater ever. mainly because its broken and im to poor to get it fixed.
but if it doesnt pass the bloke down the road at the commercial wreckers said i could borrow a cowl also a set of rear doors with handles to pass so im not to fussed.

is it bad to cover it up, with all the ac gear still in the car?

My cowl is shaved an my heat an a/c work fine. If you notice with the fenders off,there's also holes on each side behind the fender.
