ok im kinda tired of having the bare metal showing behind my seats and was thinking that i want to cover it. just wondering how everyone covered their back wall? did you just tack the carpet up on it or cover something then tack that to the back wall? let me know how you did it.

my truck came with some sort of rhyno linning or something, will that make it hard to cover or stick something to?

if i bought carpet for an xcab would i have enough extra to run up the back of the cab to cover it? would that work since most carpets or molded to the floor plan?

you could take some hardboard (peg board with no holes) and cut it to the right shape. put some thin foam on the back to keep it from rattling and cover the front with carpet or tweed or whatever. then find an extended cab in a junkyard and get the metal trim piece that goes below the back window.
should be a metal trim below the window..... i would get some HDF board and carpet it with little overlaping... then put it on the back wall , then put that metal trim over the overlaping carpet to keep it held up..... or just hang the carpet from behind the trim metal down....

Yea I did what ICE said in the above post, except I used some 1/8" paneling I had at home. I does not stick out as far and both achieve the same finish in the end. I guess that the HDF baord would deaden the sound a little more.....

(very old pic of my truck)
and the metal piece he was referring to is the one that runs the width of the cab directly under the back window as seen at the top right of the pic(grey)

just get some carpet off an extended cab (with or without speakerholes) and hang it like factory.

did the ext. cabs have a formed piece of crapet on the back wall, or was it just a straight sheet hung from the top?

My kingcab frontier has just a flat sheet of carpet on the back wall.
