you cant remove them unless you triangulate your lower arm.
those tension rods keep your LCA from having too much play front to rear. you can relocate the tension rods, modify your LCA, or use an aftermarket arms.

do you mean the radius arms? in front? if so NO! leave them till you reinforce the control arms from the rear with some tubing

you can move the mounts for the tension rod up and out of the way. here is a pic of my front crossmember when it was being modified for my bodydrop.

Also you can do this to your lower arms to eliminate your front radius arms

whats the purpose of flippin it
Mr.Ryan

it helps with the ball joint binding problem if your bagged on lets say 20" or larger rims it just slightly changes the angle

seemed like it added too much camber when it was layed out. i ended up flipping them back over. but it does add about 2" of lift without any cutting on the upper control arm.
Mr.Ryan

could you guys explain how you can get lift just from flipping your upper arms? cuz it makes no sense to me unless by changing the angle on the ball joint it stops the "ball joint" from binding up, thus giving you the idea that it adds lift rather than allowing you to use the range of motion you already had available.
inkjunky

the ball will not bind when the suspension is down and during the range of motion when riding low but will bind at full lift. the reason you get more lift is because it clears the upper bag bracket better and will droop out further.

So in theory as i'm going to be running 20's, if I run drop spindles, and flip the upper arms upside down, I will get enough lift to clear my 20's?
inkjunky
10-26-2008, 08:57 PM
yes it will lift plenty far enough to clear 20s

you will also need to switch them from left to right as well or the caster changes too much

That is my lowers. I bought the parts from Suicide Doors.
2 bent tubing (45° I believe it was
2 4 link bushing sets and bolts
2 4 link mounting tabs (long)
Then just cut as needed and weld the 4 link bushings on. Make sure your pivot is the same as your lower control arm. If it isnt lined up correctly it will bind and wont work.

alright i was wondering instead of the 2 45's would buying 1 180 bent tubing work???

I dont think you will be able to set it up correctly with a 180°. Plus you might run into wheel clearance when turning.

It should be fine I used straight tubing on mine without the bends and I have no turning issues.
