i dont recommend getting the cheap one's from ebay, 5 friends of mine including myself within 2 months had either a bulb go bad or the ballast, my ballast was shot in a little over a month, the brand we had was xentec so stay away from those, maybe there is a "better" cheaper one than that brand, just wanna give ya a head's up before your dealing with the same issues

as long as you dont have a sealed beam you dont need to worry about getting a new headlight housing, just order the kit the specifies the bulb type you have, i.e. 9004, 9005, 9006 and so forth...if your headlight housing has a yellowish tint or are hazy then yea you may want to order new housings

they make lens clarifier kits that work really well for yellowed hazy headlight lenses, even the Blue Magic brand stuff in a bottle for $6 works well, took about an hour my first time to get them like brand new, they were pretty bad, but since then i only have to hit them with it maybe once every 6 months for 5 minutes, good as new again....new ones will eventually get faded too (UV light exposure causes this)...

I'm finishing up my HID swap in my truck.

Found 2 sets of 4x6.5 crystal clear headlights, ordered some H4 6K HIDs, and am in the process of finishing the wiring. Currently have a set of H4 lamps on the drivers side, and sealed lamps on the passenger side, so I could see the difference at night. Going to put in the H4s sometime soon so I can really compare the difference.

I abandoned the stock wiring harness and pulled new 14ga. to all the headlights, ran those to a new 6-fuse panel under the hood and tied them into two relays under the instrument cluster.

I also was able to abandon the two fuse spots in the stock fuse panel for the L & R headlights. I'm using one to power my A/C compressor and the other to power additional future goodies.
