Let me start by saying that i will need some input on some of the front and rear setups. Anyways, I have been designing a frame in CAD and printed it out on the 3D printer at my school. I am printing off the rear tomorrow, but i have the front clip and mid section, with pictures right now. It took 3 hours and 41 minutes for the front and mid section. Let me know what you guys think! :nana2::nana2:

Yes, there is tape around the front clip end.
I should have more updates soon. What kind of setup should i run in the back? I was thinking about a sick canti but i cant decide :thumb:

nice! i had to fix the printer we have here, the support material for that thing is EXPENSIVE!!!

Id love to make a sick canti, but i have no idea of how to make the measurements or anything. id like to find a model this size but itwas even bigger than a 1:18 scale model. Id say about a 1:15 or 1:13 scale. I made all of the frame in CAD using exact measurements and scaled it down. A quarter inch on the model = 3 inches on a real frame. im trying to describe it the best I can but im having a hard time.

nice, would be cool if you made an r/c out of it

you can find models that size but there usually ferrari replicas and things very rare and exspensive and hard as hell to find limited production things. youd get killed if you got caught cutting one up hahaha

I was thinking about making it just a rolling chassis. im sure theres someway i can modify an rc car to make the gas/brake be the u/down for the back and so on....

i think they make escalades and stuff that may fit it

Should have the rear end on it tomorrow. I will keep you guys posted. Does anyone have a clue on what I could use for an axle or wheels?

i always wanna see canti setups! the sicker the better (obviously:)) maybe if you played around on your CAD long enough something may jus work. i would say try doin some research on link systems on things outside of truckdom and they might give ya ideas

make a setup that only uses one or two bags to lift the whole truck!.........just a thought

Heres a little update for you guys. I got the back printed off today, and mocked it up til i can find the best way to weld them together, haha.

Haha, thanks man. Im really, really enjoying doing this. Me (16) not having a real mini to work on, i feel like this is preparing me for the future, haha. I really appreciate everyones input on this, and hope there is lots more to come. Im so stumped on the suspension (moving parts and what to get) im not sure what to do next.

lol well its turnin out pretty good. hopefully it does help. ive been building plastic model cars since i was like 10 so once i got my first truck and started working on it it was like working on the model car only bigger. hopefully youll get how the suspension an everything works

I watched a couple of videos on youtube about RC cars with hydraulics, and it got me thinking, what if i used bags and air? Thats would be insane!!

Yeh its not possible, for me atleast. But in other news i shortened the mid-section my about 2 inches, it was WAY out of perportion. it would me like a 4dr frontier on 13's haha, but its looking very propertional now. Here are the pics. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f283/CKR_Fierce/IMG00066.jpg

this thing is freakin cool:cool: at least you'll have your frame setup figured out by the time you get an actual project truck:thumb:

BBT FAB has some pretty cool suspension setups on their myspace page

of course biokustumz.com has some killer stuff all this jus for ideas:o

I panned on using my model as a guide for when i get my truck, I just have to get a job! haha. And i looked at bbt fabs pictures and seen a few nice setups. im mainly trying to focus on the parts that i need to the suspension and all that good stuff. but once i get a rear suspension ill start working on ideas.

Man that would be sick if you could do a rendering, with those rims i was thinking about getting.

And things might be going a little bit slow. Im really low on cash right now and i cant buy any parts. im hoping to find a couple of old rcs and tear them apart.

im talkin about i make you some rims you print me out a set LOL , i can make them then take them into 3d max and scale them to fit a tire if i know the tire size from the inside to the inside outer wall and the diameter of the tire on the inside hole. or i can just make a wheel tire for use in like just a model where it dont need to roll

ohhhh, haha, well the thing is is it doesnt make a perfectly smooth circle. id love to make my own rims, and could easily do it, but the machine wouldnt be able to make that small of a detail.
