84 720 engines

Im wondering what kind of motors came in the 84 720s (its a 4x4 if that matters) Im going saturday to look at one, and the information i was given was vague as to what kind of motor is in it If its a z24 - then its pretty close to a z24i correct? (only difference being fuel injected vs carb?)

Basically i just wanted to make sure if it had a V6 (or if they even had v6s in the older trucks.) that i read up a bit on it (the z24s I already am familiar with)

I was told it ran a little rough, but they were sure it was the timing needed to be adjusted. Im guessing i can just unhook the vacuum advance, adjust timing until it sounds better, and rehook timing back up before I buy the truck to make sure its not something serious.

the 720 doesn't come in with v-6 and 84 should only have z24 or diesel motor.

got a picture of the motor - looks to be a z24, but im used to seeing my bare ass motor with no A/C or powersteering lol I also have no idea what the diesel looks like.

well i bought it - turns out it has a 2.0 engine w/ a 2.4 valve cover

the original 2.4 has a cracked head, but i plan on rebuilding the 2.4 and putting it back in it (came with the truck)

runs a bit rough, i adjusted the timing and it helped alot, maybe it will work itself out a bit, its been sitting for awhile (still want to put the 2.4 in though)
