So I've been meaning to ask this for a while but I was going to change the oil on my girls 91 pathy and the oil filter is in the worse spot ever! I ended up just taking it to get the oil changed and they seemed surprised about it too  Anyone ever done an oil change on one of these before? After swapping the oil filter oil still leaked for a day or so off of everything it drained on when taking it off. Sorry no pics but I doubt I could get any of what I was talking about anyways. Any suggestion!?

ya dude i share your pain, i almost shit when i discovered where the filter was on my 94, it was rediculous to get to, i ended up taking the tire off and doing it that way. oh and it has the vg30, i think some of the 80s pathys came with a 4 cylinder but all of them from like 90 or 89 up only came with the vg30

yea as far as I know all the 91s came with the vg30. I know wiki could clear this up but I don't got time to look right now lol. But seriously though!? What was nissan thinking? Anyone have tips or tricks?

get one of those fram filters with the grip stuff on the end. it might help a TINY bit. but yeah i have a 94 pathy and it blows. when you take it somewhere just makes sure you check the oil level before you leave. they overserviced mine by a quart and blew out the cam seals. i couldn't get them to make it right either, their excuse was that even though it wasn't leaking the day i brought it in, but it was pouring the day after they serviced it, it was due because it had 123K miles.

damn that's some shit. yea I believe it called for 3 5/8 quarts of oil and I brought my own high mileage valvoline there. So they actually gave me the 4th bottle back with a little left in there so I know they got the right amount.

come in from the top using left hand. unscrew. tilt it so the open end is up and pull out. install is reverse. the tricky part is gettin it lined up to screw on. then wash the oil that poured out off the starter.
Poor design, but its what we got.

Back when I had inner fenders I cut a hole out to direct access the filter from there Just had to turn the wheel all the way to the right and reach in. They are a pain in the ass.
Get a filter relocator kit thats what I did on a friends pathy it works great.
