I am collecting parts to start a "family" show cruiser.

cool idea, the photchop kinda looks like an extended wheelbase blazer tho, it will take a car/truck guy to spot the work that goes into it.

body drop or not to body drop.

I can either combine both the 2-door and 4-door frame and not body drop it or build a 3/4 frame and body drop it. Im leaning more twords the stretched stock frame.

wonder if I could use the stock frame and stretch it, then sfbd it.

beaver720

just build a frame, your going to make custom body mounts anyways, and with the length of it, custom sfb is the way to go

Karl90C1500
02-07-2010, 02:10 AM
you gonna come and help me right, Ima look at hopefully starting it in a month or so. Once I get my income tax in.

Im sketching out a frame design tonight

xmb63
02-07-2010, 07:12 PM
Yea definitely build a frame for it out of box tubing im pretty sure the blazer frames are taller than the s10 frames and they are shaped goofy. I think it takes 5" to traditional body drop a first gen blazer when it only take 3.5" to drop a truck.

Karl90C1500

I just need a 4 door with a title for the front half now

Karl90C1500
02-16-2010, 01:59 AM
this is going to be a little more difficult than I thought. After looking at some pictures of the back windows on both the 2 and 4 door blazers. I noticed that on the 2 door the back side window is inset a bit and the 4 door is flush. Now I need to figure out how to keep the flush look and stretch it a few inches using the 2 door's back end.

that's easy... rubber spacer to set the glass out flush.

Also, I think you are going to need a beefier frame than what you drew for the long ass body your building.

stick with the longer version. you have to modify the back door anyways, so use the door skin off a front one to sink back in the belt molding and glass. the only place that light be a problem is the run channel in the front, but that can be overlooked if the belt and back glass look right. the back glass can be glued in from behind, or slide into the top part of the front door skin.

try to copy the look of the suburban http://image.automotive.com/f/featuredvehicles/chevy/11191062+pheader/0812mt_01_z+1995_chevrolet_suburban+side_view.jpg

hope that helps you get back on track ;)

you need to ues the back half of a front door and fit it to the back half of the back door then get a new glass cut then the back door will fit the 2door door jam

hear is a pic of what your back door needs to look like

It would look awesome. but keep it an S10 Blazer. Don't change the grille or front end to another model, it will look like crap. Maybe use the 92-93 grille with billet inserts like this:

Or this phantom:
