is it a single port, or like a red and white RCA plug in?

its just a singlr port. i think like the headphone jack on an i pod, only input.

is it like a head phone to head phone adaptor? you might have to go into your main menu and turn on the aux inout, like i did with my pioneer

Is there more that one port on the back? Are you sure you are using a 3.5 cable?

no im not sure its a 3.5 cable. what is a 3.5 cable?

A 3.5 cable is a cable that looks like it has headphone plugs on each end. There are cables out there that look very similar but have different contact points. You can get 3.5 cables pretty much anywhere i.e. Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, Best Buy ect. Not sure what you in Canada but you get the idea.

No that should be the correct wire you have. OK so you plug it in the back of the radio and then into the I-Pod and nothing happens? I'm assuming you have tired to turn the volume up on the I-pod or press play. OK so either it's plugged into the wrong place (which I doubt), Bad cable or bad deck. Oh and this is what you cable ends should look like exactly. If the tip looks even slightly different it's the wrong cable.
