i have this nice clean truck i want to turbo it needs more power im thinking of putting a t25 i have laying around on it but i dont want to have a big fmic. i want to know if it woul be safe to run without one.if i "have" to use one im thinking of putting a srt4 intercooler behind the grill and masaging it in to place. im not trying to make 10000000hp. i just want more torque so i can tow a car with it and motors and weight in the back.the reason for me doing this is i had a vr6 motor in the back and god i felt like i was driving a moped it felt hopeless. pls keep in mind i would like to keep everything stock(ecu injectors maf intake will later be swapped for a 240 one) and i will be turning down the timing ~10 degrees and not going above the wastegate spring which i think is 7 lbs its a sr20 t25

I wouldnt really waste my time with a T24. If you want something along those lines you can just find an older wrecked eclipse or talon(90-94)and get the 14b off of it as well as the side mount intercooler. Unless you prefer a garret mounting flange for some reason!

because oval inlets on turbos are superior to the inferior round design toyota and mitsu both tried. Then wised up and realized it sucked and went to garretts design. The t-25 is small but with your goals I don't see why not, just don't keep it choked up on the exhaust side. Also, for less than a grand you can run a chipped ecu, injectors and a log style manifold so I don't see why you wouldn't do it now. peace.

i think that would be a really good idea, i also have a t-25 and would like to watch ur build up

i think the low boost on stock internals, injectors, comp, ect. would be hella fun but not much hella faster

wrong! They still have cast pistons which are going to crack with too much detonation which will be caused by a poorly tuned setup. So, focus on that first. peace.

wow i got a lots of action here i got nothing on ka-t my last fav forums site.till i figured out that alot of ppl there were there to show u how much better than the average joe they are.i like average joe stuff and stuff that didnt take my yearly pay to build.i like the saying "home built ,cause im made of time not money"

ok ill respond to each individual post in the order it was recieved

1sickhb: why go with a t25 is because this will be a dd once again must be reliable. i know if i put a t3 on it im gonna want more every time i get bored of wat its got not good on a stock block. also i have the turbo it was given to me i also have a smic from a 24 however it does not look like it would be a good candidate for the truck and here is a teaser of wat it looks like under the hood of my 240.

nismopu: im not the type to half ass thing especially not anymore iv learned that lesson really bad my 240 has been parked 2 yrs now latest damage is broken cam ,cam gear, timing chain, and custom valve reliefs in pistons 1 and 2.this only means that the car isnt gonna comeout when i want it to. 2.5" exhaust and muffler out the sideif plans go well.the reason i dont/cant chip it is because its obd2 if it was not i would i would of put the whole 89-90 240sx harness i have and chipped ecu from my old car pics of under the hood

and the first thing to go on these motors is the ringlands and if tuned correctly they go at ~350hp depending condition of motor. and sorry for the pic sizes but im too lazy and tired to resize them right now

this is ver 1.0 this was two years ago

i thought about doing the same thing to my pathy. i still have the stock vg30e but im swapping in a new motor soon anyway so if this motor blows oh well, haha all i had into it was a lot of welding time and wire. i have a t25 off a second gen eclipse sitting in my room and want to put it on there with a stock sm from an eclipse which i also have. i think im going to for now till i get my swap done.

haha that costs money though, plus im not going through the work of a swap for an engine like that. cant build it up enough. at the moment im looking at swapping either a 1jz or an rb25 havent decided yet.

how did it run without the intercooler thats basically wat im thinking of doing but with a t25 and aluminum not pvc(not knocking it) pvc is actually better it doesnt absorb heat as much as metal or aluminum. i dont want to put the t3 i have on it cause then ill never finish the car and i dont want to blow this motor. how did the ecu like the boost. please give me more info on this setup. i dont want to put an intercooler but i might have to. also trying to keep the ac

It ran fine with the two in tandom you just have to remember to still plumb in your maf in front of the turbo.

Basics if the setup were
JGS oil feed and drain kit
Custom log manifold made for a z24
volvo t3(booo)
rx-7 460cc injectors(got lots of them if you need a set)
ms-1 v2.2

We tuned mostly with auto tune and did the base map myself. Took a while.
Intercoolers aren't necessary we had one just not enough tubing and the PVC was to just get it running(very ghetto i know). lol!

Hey that vg30et above cost 250 bucks(these engines are dirt cheap) and runs like a champ! Came with an ecu and harness and everything. We did the whole swap for under a grand and runs circles around the old KA-t setup. How can u complain with a 500hp capable engine? peace.
