To answer my own post. The Best Western is within staggering distance from Sam's Town. I booked my room there for half of what it would cost me at the casino's standard rate. but honestly I would rather stay at the casino.

Im paying 143.00 for 2 nights at the best western. That 99. dollar rate at Sam's town is no good now anyway. Thaty only had 400 roms available for that offer and thay are booked solid that weekend now.

Reading over the thread seems to be a few planning to attend ShowFest this year. Yes, there is a founding member named Joe Slade that's my cousin. Assorted made up of a great small group of guys, I'm positive that this show will deliver and not disappoint.
I'm doing everything in my power to make it this year...I'm not in the habit of missing this show and I don't want to start now. No, I won't be bringing the truck...not 'til it's finished.
Best Western does still have rooms, I just booked one for 2 adults and a child for the 14-16 for $143

Now this is what I need to know, Is there anyone that will be at the show that would like me to bring any shirts or stickers? Also I just got a shipment of blue and silver vinyl in today...we also added gold.

I don't think this will be the case....Assorted said they would not bring back ShowFest unless the conditions were favorable. I'm sure they have spent a lot of time with officials in the area to let them know what is coming...above all I grew up in the delta....it's nothing but flat land and if you google street view it you can see all the flat roads with nothing but cotton fields....and in contrast to Greenville this will be a plus because picture this and no offense ment but it's a long walk from the ghetto

I am not a member of Assorted but me and my wife are working staff for the show i was only promoting the show and trying to get as many people to come as we possibly can i have posted everywhere i can about the show on all of the forums that i am a member of and have been passing out hundreds upon hundreds of fliers at all the shows that i have attended this year. I have been friends with the guys a long long time and will do anything to help them
again if there was any confusion to any of this i am sorry

I hope that the show is a not only as big as before but also that the quality level is what it always was before...That's one of the great things about ShowFest Use to you could go to this show and you would see many debuts and most of your next years features from several different mags. People travel very long distances from this show, from California and Canada alike...it's just that damn good. I could go on and on about things that I love about this event, for one it's club ran, and it's a charity event. The members of the club are very knowledgeable of the areas they judge and know what they are looking at. These guys for a small club are highly organized and know what the chemistry for a good show looks like. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be great and more memories to add to all the ones that I've had since '97...I've missed having this show in my life for the past 4 years...Funny thing is this will be mine and my wife's 3rd anniversary. It will be the first ShowFest I get to share with her.

There has always been rain in the forecast for showfest weekend. There was one year that it blowed up on us..'04 I think...on Saturday around 4:30ish. But like mike said not the first show it's rained at. In Greenville it was actually always pretty, just had to dodge the water holes from the evening shower before. So I hope this holds true for Tunica.

Im still debating on bringing mine. I have the dash back in. Eveything is working, just have some concerns on 2 things. The brakes stop the truck, and a visual inspection shows them as having plenty of pad, they just dont stop fast enough. It's possible Im just so used to the Sentra seeing as its been almost 6 months since the harbody has been on the road..

The engine temp is reading pretty high. It did this with me on my way back from STC last year. I've changed the thermosat, releaved the air off the top of the block and topped the radiator with fresh coolant. It ran great going to and from Byram (about 45 miles round trip) but while sitting in the yard running I was replacing a bad directional buld, it was showing hot again.

Im waiting on the truck to cool off to see if it's lost water. Im wondering if my electric fan isnt pulling enough air.

A= Brakes are fine. Biggers wheels, lowered and 5 months of steady rollin in the Sentra. Just gotta get used to rollin low again.

B= No fan clutch, I ditched the factory belt fan 2 years ago. The sensor is fine. I need to make a shroud to go around my electric fan that'll help alot. The fan is 16" diameter but may not be moving enough air.

Im bringing the truck, It's running great, but looks like it's living up to its name. "UNDER DESTRUCTION" , my interior looks like hell but I have the dash in for this show so screw it's looks.

IM ROLLING NOW!! I'll be heading north up I-55 for the main leg of my trip. Honk if ya see shit falling off. :thumb:

I'M HAVING A FUCKING BLAST!!! This is my first Showfest and by the grace of god it wont be my last. The weather was great, the cars were awsome and I got to meet old and made new friends.

I saw James and Leah, and I was parked next to IndecentXXXposure's hardbody, though I never saw him. Saw the most amazing sight too. A white GMC longbed dually laying a trail of sparks down Casino Blvd, My heart skipped a beat, tears welled up and I'm like HELLLLLL YEAHHHH!!!!!! Woulkdnt ya know it, I couldnt get to the damn camera!!

I know whoever all the staff was by the trailors pissed me off with their attitudes. I was stopped 2 times sayin I had to turn around cause stock trucks arnt allowed in the show area I told them both I was goin to get my trailor the 1st one said ok and the 2nd one had a little more attitude so I said it ain't stock and I laid on the train horns lmao then the 3rd one had a lady on a golf cart try to block my z71 and started yellin with her attitude no no turn around...so I said fuck off I'm gettin my trailor..I swear I would of run that golf cart over...ppl on their power trips piss me off

I don't think it was a power trip, Assorted works hard to bring a good event and I'm sure you can tell that was accomplished. Maybe they didn't understand you was trying to get to your trailer because most of the trailers were being unload and dropped outside the gate. I'm sure there was just some misunderstanding.


I was very happy with the show and with the quality that showed up. There were a lot of nice rides there. I'm happy that the weather was favorable for the show itself, the weather drove everyone indoors for night life. That part wasn't fun for me since I had brought a child along I couldn't game or club. Though I did spend a long while at the Horse Shoe buffet.

I was glad that the weather man had Sunday wrong the weather actually held off. If your not familiar with delta humidity, that would have been the hard part. I wish more people had stayed for Sunday, but there were a lot of people with longer drives home. We left Tunica around 4 and got back to the coast at 10. I have tons of pics when I get a chance I'll share a few.
I look forward to next year. If I had the choice of only going to one show in a year, hands down it would be ShowFest.

Yeah James I sat out on the show grounds Sunday waiting for the show to start a few guys from RA and I were commenting to the clouds when the winds started picking. It wasn't untill somes tent went sliding across the parking lot that I decided to hit the road.

This one that belonged to Randy Sutterfield caught my eye. We talked for awhile and I told him about :IN: No idea if he'll check us out he said he wasnt into forum chatting and such. So many frikken mods its hard to count. Got some really good tips on how to handle my dash in my heap too.

Yeah the toyota was one of my favorite out there.
I was disappointed that I missed the pig feet...Saw the sign on Sunday and they was like nah, that was yesterday. Hormel pigs feet are eatable but not my preference...I like it when they are pink. I could have straight up one that contest. Like I've said I grew up in the delta...in those parts that's considered good eatin'.
