Uhhh, worst feeling ever! I got underneath the datsun to weld in some braces on my rear end and the first arc I struck shot a big piece of molten lava down my ear and landed on what felt like my ear drum and sizzled (later figured out it was wax) I never moved so fast in my life! Helmet went flying and I screamed like a bitch!:rofl2:

Damn Albert. I bet you dont do that again. I had this happen once. Standing too close to someone else who was welding. Slag landed on the top of my shoe and caught on fire. Kicked that shoe longer than any NFL kicker could have.

Many years ago, I was in a welding program in Job Corps. A buddy of mine was TIG training and some kinda way some kinda how he burned a pretty good size hole in his leg. I caught my hair on fire a couple times... but the best was this guy we called Leprechaun(he was like 4'6 with a huge afro)...used to cuff his pants and tuck them in his boots. slag/spark landed in his cuff. you haven't lived until you've seen a 4 foot tall black dude with an afro running around with smoke pouring out of his shoes.

one way to stop that is take your welding cap and take that flap and put that side on the top so if shit drops it wont go right in...had an old guy tell me that when i use to weld
