Ok so someone quoted me $1200 do completely machine and rebuld my motor. Is that to much or what

doesnt sound bad really. my friend got a rebuild but thats was just new rings bearings and cylinder honing was 550.

Well from what the guy says he ll get it completely rebuilt. Or advanceautoparts sells one for $2200 and some change. I dont have that kind of money because also redoing my transmission. How hard is it exactly to rebuild my ka24e. Im an assembler at my job. But ive never rebuilt a motor before. Now i have a chiltons book and it doesnt seem so bad

Are u rebuilding cuz high mileage or cuz u broke sumthing?

Because the bitch has 330000 miles on it. It runs but smokes alil i think just from the valve seats.

i got quoted at $1200 for a re-build but i figured my motor has 230k on it and I can drive it for awhile before it goes because its not a daily anymore. So I'm gonna hold off and buy a motor when mine goes. Thats my advice to you.
