are the HVAC controls the same type of bulb? i want everything to match
Aaron,
I have to look into the HVAC.. that is on my List of stuff to do. The JVC head unit I put in this past spring has multicolor selectable display, so I was able to match teh Red Dash with that, but the HVAC, I need to look into.
Screwed Dup,
Thanks for the kind words

yea my jvc has that too, its set on blue right now but i dont know if blue gauge lights would look cheap or not
Blue seems to look very bright in a lot of photos I see of gauges that have a Blue Swap.
Red is just easier on the eyes at night

I just ordered the white ones instead of the blue. I hope they sort of match my white HID's I have on there. Thanks for the write up :thumb:

Well I tried one of the white led's in my climate but they do not make that much of a change in color. I think it might work better with the color led's instead. Anyways here is the white color in my gauges I added yesterday afternoon. :nana2:

Thanks, Well they dont look really yellowish but there is not a huge change. I will take a pic of the right side of my control where it is in. I will take one tonight when it gets darker so you can see how much of a change the white makes.

iv always wondered if the uv bulbs will make that white pop out, you guys think it will?
I am trying to remember...
Some guys did the UV LED mod on some 240SX gauges, but I think it made the needles pop out more...
If I find it, I'll post it up

Hey, I did the L.E.D swap over a year ago.. Its OK I guess but it still has the dim spots like @about the 50mph mark for example.

Mine is dark in about the same spot.
It is just the way the light is moved around the cluster (through clear light "channels" behind the gauge faces), the Light bulbs have a wider pattern than the LEDs, but it is not bad enough to bother me.
I recently replaced just the cluster illumination bulbs in my 2000 Frontier. The stock bulbs were pretty dim, and that ugly plain white/green look. Stiil have to do the turn signals and all the other indicator bulbs, but I like the way it turned out. These pics dont do the look justice at all, sorry for the crappy pics. NOTHING like the LED conversion in my Altima SER, but better than the stock look. Believe it or not the LEDs that I put in there are bright white 6Ks! II guess there is a tint to the cluster. If I used blue LEDs it would have been a bit brighter. (For best LED performance, ALWAYS use the same color LED as the lens it will be going it....makes it much more vibrant...

What bulb type and how many did you need in the frontier?
T-5 base iirc....there are alot. The black bases are slightly larger than the brown bases and thus have a slightly larger bulb.
My Frontier is a base XE, so you may have more bulbs than what I show in the pics below...
