so i decided to experiment today with my rear suspension i wanted to drop as low as i possibly could with out using blocks and now my axle is resting on my frame
i toyed around with this idea for a while and this is what i came up with.
heres what it looked like with no wheel the clamps are just for installation they didn't remain on the truck

as you can see i flipped the entire leaf pack over
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h310/pejsa/Image009.jpg
and i mono leafed it aswell for even more drop

this is just a dry fit in the air... when i put it on the ground the mud flap was about a quarter inch from the ground NICE!!!!

yea only time will tell
i know some other guy who practically did the same thing and his seems to be working pretty good.
its been done back in the day before bags. not the safest route to get low. but it works for a lil while

what problems will i encounter?

snapped spring while driving, not fun, the leaf is made of spring steel it is designed to flex in a certain direction, if you change the way it flexes or change the steel on a molecular level such as heating it , it will weaken it significantly and possibly snap over time.

Yeah I had a buddy do this with his truck and he snapped a leaf going down the road if your looking for a cheap drop I reccomend pulling one leaf and relocating the front hanger you drill new holes move it up and trim excess hanger off , I am sure someone has the template on here and a full writeup somewhere on how to do it I know back on nissanminis.com wayyyy back in the day there was and slot of those guys that were on that site are still on here , I plan on doing this with the ext cab I gave plus my 3 inch blocks if I decide to keep the hb I have currently ... Someone who knows please post up details on this mod

I don't believe the 720's have the same sized hangers. Do they?

Brandon i got your message, sorry been swapmed. I think you should put the leafs back the way they were. Maybe run just the main leaf & the overlad. Combine that with a 3 inch block & that'll get it pretty low. Then if need be we can do a "C" notch at my place. If you want to, pick up a 8 inch long piece of 4 inch pipe 1/4 inch thick for the notch.

well i have to say that it kind of looks just a little sketchy, buuuut, i ran a non-flipped monoleaf on the datto for many a year without one breaking.
but then one day i went to the gas station... and one broke. lol not a problem tho. didnt even know it broke till i got out and noticed the crazy ganster lean i had going on. so i just drove it home, broken leaf and all.
heres how it looked when i got home...

and heres how it looks now. 3 leaf > 2 leaf
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/farmer_joe84/DSCF0327.jpg
setting up the leafs this way also got me another inch and a half of drop too. my sig is before the leaf broke and this is after...

I ran a monoleaf, heated up and 3" blocks on my s-10 for over a year without a problem. My buddy monoleafed his '72 620 and a leaf broke when he let it of the jack, lol. Idk, it all depends on the metal
