I've been lurking around throwin my :2: around everywhere so i figured i start my build log, show ya what im workin with. been gettin plenty of ideas and great advice on here and ratsun! And ya never know this thing may end at the house of hack.... i mean McClary's Metalworks before its over:p WARNING: its gonna be a slow go but ill do my best to keep it updated.

FUTURE PLANS: bagged with miata subframes for some IRS:thumb:, maybe a rotory maybe a Z24 with sidedrafts hell could end up with a 302--havent decided on engine, stock floor BD combined with a couple inches of traditional to lay door instead of sectioning the bed, if i can come across an old school dash then yeah ill with it but probably jus shave the stocker, maybe bomber seats

You have a big project there but it's not gonna be impossible to get it back on the road. Id keep the motor an L series for simplicity. Finding a windshield will be your biggest challenge IMO. The Ratsun guys will be helpfull too, just ask alot of questions.

as ive said that 8 is jus sittin there staring at me. and my daily ranger jus seems to barely hold on enough for me not to put her in there. (kinda glad though cuz thats the daily)

and i already told ya a lil bout the hoops im gonna have to jump through to get said 720 in my yard:o if it happens though, im stayin away from turbo's. a built NA CA would be enough for me in one of these lil trucks:nana1:

And yeah, you can get 200+hp NA out of a CA, but how deep is your wallet? Turbo is cheaper to build in the long run.

that was the consensus of the 'sperts on here and ratsun. it was absolute trash whatever it was so ill be gettin a lil money for it at the metal recyclers shortly;)

well im thinkin if its still on the street at all:rolleyes: then premium fuel and octane boosters are expensive in the long run. i was jus wonderin, dont wanna go super high compression or anything crazy. how easy is like 180? i figure that should be nuff if i make kinda rev happy and build the tranny right.

wallet? what wallet?:( its so shallow its hard to find sometimes. thats why this thing is long term. keep luckin up free stuff or stuff close enough to free. that CA is really pipe dreams at the moment but its still a dream of mine

You know you can make lots of power with that motor, right? on the driver side of the block it should say 2T or 3T. Very popluar motor for Puerto Rican drag racers, they can be built to take 400-900hp with no problems and parts prices aren't to bad either.

ive considered the whole spectrum.....well except diesel:p i guess i should say the whole performance spectrum. according to a spreadsheet i made up for this thing, $12,000 might get somewhere close to what i want it to be..... 12,000!!!!!! i dont have anywhere near that kinda cash:( and yes thats gettin hookups and doin a bit of work(like paint&bodywork) myself


well its definitely not gonna be a daily, so..... rotory would be ok, especially with it pushin 600-800 hp:rolleyes::rofl: im kinda thinkin bout like some shockwave mount kinda things going on so maybe i could swap between coilovers and air:sheep: id love to have this or a 720 as a DRFT truck:D

diesels just dont have the getup and go i like. plus like i said----drifter-- diesel would definitely not have the power to weight ratio of saaayyyy a rotory:p its gonna looooong hard road to get this thing anywhere really, seeing as to how i wanna lay the ranger out first:(

A properly built diesel, will have the giddy up you need to drift, plenty of torque at low rpm, but high rpm is where it is at, and most diesels don't rev very fast or high, If it was me personally I would shine away from the rotard, and go 22re, or a balls out 4AG with the 20 valve head individual throttle bodies, cam and a few other goodies, I have a list of parts that where in the motor in my old fox body, if you wanted it.

I'll probably get reamed for this...but 22re's are shit motors imo. 22r is a good motor, but to hell with the EFI 22 motors. Wouldn't even consider it. Slow, sluggish, pieces of junk. And no, no amount of money will ever make one "fast".
