I just got a viper 5901 for my 1999 nbs silverado, and I need some help. This is my 2nd Viper and my 3rd alarm to install myself, all of the other vehicles were basemodel mini-trucks to where I had to put actuators in and wire it all myself, so it was just time consuming and didn't take too much "alarm" knowledge.
I just ordered a xpresskit xk06 since viper.com says I need one, can I hook-up just "alarm" now and when the xk06 comes in do the remote start or do I have to wait for the xk06 come in before I do anything?
I'm just a little overwhelmed looking at all of the elctronics an wiring on this silverado vs. my frontier.
I've located the bcm, and I've found pictures on fullsizechevy.com as well as gmfullsize.com, but in every picture I saw someone elses bcm the connectors were different colors and in different positions. So I can't really use their info to help me. The truck has the factory keyless entry.
Any help for this alarm newb would be great, thanks
