I picked up the D50 this past weekend...I need some BASIC advice on this booger. It is the 1986 2.0L with 5 speed manual. Eventually I would like to do a Mopar small block swap--but for now lets KISS please...
a Starion turbo and all that would be neat--but we are gonna get her running well--do the suspension and body drop...then do a motor change/upgrade.

1. Do 2.0, 2.6,2.4 mitsus mount up all all? Can I put a more modern block on the tranny?

2. I want to do the Weber carb conversion...as I have never seen soooooooo many frickin vacuum lines. I am thinking this will simplify things...or will it be worse?

3.The Pacesetter Header is in my mind. Ditch the factory exhaust and rub headers and a cherry bomb or something. HOWEVER-- the steel studs are rusted to fuck. Is it possible to get old steel suds outta an aluminum head without removing said head?

4. I can find a MOPAR crate for 2,000 all day... Are there any services that refresh/sell 2.0L that aren't $14,000 Evos?

ANy help is appreciated very much....

I'd always liked the little Power Ram ..and this guy Lucky Langford clinched me a few years ago in Austin. His 79 Plymouth Arrow--import Plymouth truck. Insane. His is engine driven compressor...which is kewl. Ghetto fab done piece by piece in his carhole. THe inner fender/engine bay looks awesome polyurethane'd. 57 Fury dashboard...friggin awesome. He is 'Cloverleaf' on DFWMinis

I wee bit silly--but it looks kinda cool. the 05 Fronty Third on the D50.

then a comparison--kinda neat. An american made Nissan truck, and a Jap made and Imported Dodge.

The bumper off--a cute little butt. Kinda just wanna pinch it on the heavy license plate.
