i have a question, i have a 98 nissan frontier and am wanting to get a new alt. something along the lines of a 250-300 amp. im just wondering if anyone has and luck finding a direct bolt in that does rated amps. i have found companys that can build me one but i will have to get a bracket built, and then i dont know if stock wiring will connect right up. if anyone has went through upgrading there alt and has pics that would be awesome
thanx

wrangler make good alternators I have one on my truck
I am working with DCPowerinc on an alt that will fit the KA....They have one for the 3.3 V6, but not the 4 cylinder. It will be available in about 60 days an will be a direct OEM fit case and bolt right up...As far as 300amps, uhm, no it will be about 250amps, honestly which is plenty. I have one from them in my Altima SER, and at 275 amps, its way more than I can use, and I have a full audio system with a power hungry X-Box 360, and a 2000 watt power inverter hard wired. DC is the way to go, The idle amperage is whats MOST important when upgrading to a H.O alt....the 275amp alt on the SER is putting out 180 amps at idle!!! Heres a pic when I first got it.....
