Ok so i just order my Flowmaster Supper44 2.25 inlet/outlet muffler (http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/#) from summit racing. Now i plan on having my exhuast shop build me a new less restrictive Y-pipe. With a 2.25 all around for better flow. When i install the muffler.

Now to catch up abit. Im looking to delete my secondary cat's and run performance cats for my 2 remaining cat's. Now both Xterra's (http://www.infamousnissan.com/forum/#) and frontiers have 4 cats total. Atleast the 2nd gen frontiers do. So with me deleting the secondary cats and having a straight pipe and leaving the front 2 cat's behind my headers left alone. I wont trigger any sensors.

So does anyone know where to get some. I have been looking at Summit racing and i came up with this....

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-53005/

Just making sure this is alright. Because its 13 inches long but its universal. So im just wondering if this would even fit. I dont know what the length of our stock cat's are. Thats why im asking for any advice.

Thanks. Stan

the rear catalyst are not part of the trucks monitored emissions and will not hurt to get rid of them. They are oxidation catalysts and rather than have a custom pipe made or by something else I would hollow them out. Use a pry bar and hammer to hollow them out. Remove 02 sensors first. If you buy a pipe to go there its just gonna cost money and they may not have the rear o2 sensor holes in them or in the right places. I've done this before especially on the B15 sentra spec-v. Just make sure cat material is cleaned out thoroughly. Should be like a couple hour project.

haven't replaced my y-pipe or muffler yet but I will be hollowing these cats out when I do.

Im just trying to get the lowdown on what the ins/outs are with this. My muffler guy will be doing all the work. Im just supplying him the parts. Just incase its more from him. My muffler should be here by the end of the week.

But thanks for that hollowing out idea. Its much appreciated. I was hoping you would reply. Since you have alot more knowledge when it comes to nissan than i do. Expecially since you work there :D

There are several Y pipes available...most cat-backs have a the new Y pipe included. The stock Y just has a pinch to equalize the banks....right Nislo?
A full system would prob cost less than all the assorted parts and pieces-with the benefit of tested engineering. Plus you could do it @ home in a matter of hours-at most.
....I find it hard to believe that even the grubbiest of shops will bangout yer cats--where you could do it at home without anybody being the wiser.
