Rough Idle?

Well i finished my timing chain this weekend i fixed my distibutor wiring. got it started and it idles around 500 and shakes real bad I am trying to find out what I did wrong? It also back fires when i smash the gas about half way down? I cant see a loose connection anywhere, I dont know what else i can do!

u got ur timing 180* off guaranteed here this should help.

see if this makes sense i was told to put it back in TDC and take the valve cover off and see if its on TDC as well. and if not i could get a socket and turn the sprocket a couple teeth?? also to check the distributor to see if its pointing to number one spark plug?? i need to make sure of this before i take it a part again!?!?!?!

as long as u lined the valve timing up right and it runs then you wont have to take it all apart. when i did my 240sx's timing chain slack side guide, i got the ignition timing wrong 3 times.
all u do is make sure its at tdc by the crankshaft pullies timing marks and see if ur on a compression stroke pull the 4 bolts out of the oil pump drop the pump. then use the picture to aling the shaft with the pump marks and slide everything back in. and when u put the dizzy back in it should be pointing to the 1 cylinder. then it should run great.
u really need to dl the 89-90 240sx manual it would help alot.
ps my car did that same exact thing it would run really shitty and had no power fixed the timing and it was all good.
