trans noise when out of gear.

Car makes a noise while idling kinda sounds like a bearing spinning kinda like a loud trough out bearing. but goes away when i hit the clutch. its like a quiet low pitched drowning noise. any thoughts. think i should worry about it?

I second that, get it fixed before your tranny takes a shit. happened to me while driving and it got stuck in 4th gear and had to replace the tranny....

i had a throwout bearing go out on a race track that sounded like crap after it was all mangled up inside!!

wont it just start to get louder cause right now its not that loud. could it be a bearing in the trans?

I'd drain the oil and look for sparklybits.

If there are a lot of them, I'd look for a rebuilt tranny. If the oil looks okay, I'd try replacing the throwout bearing to see if it gets rid of the noise.

yeah idk maybe but im pretty lazy so i might drive it and if it blows ill swap a dual cam in there.

you can, but you'll be replacing the trans along with that engine holmes, best to fix it now they are not all that bad to replace you and a buddy can do it in prolly under 3-4 hours

yeah but i just finaly got the damn thing running good and then i hear this shit so im pretty pissed. forgot to mention its a 240. if i blow the trans i can get another for like 100 bucks. and get a dual cam for like 50. so i just wanted to know if that is what it was. i might fix it but i wanna do another a fidanza along with a stage 2 clutch. thanks guys.
