i have a 97 d21 and in the last year i have put 4 head units in it in the last year, the units keep burning out the speaker leads from the head unit to the speakers, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. i'm at a total loss of if i should just tear out all the wiring from the factory harness and run my own or take it to someone that maybes knows what the problem is :idk: any help would be great.

i had a sound chip burn up in a pioneer cd player about 2 yrs ago not sure why

sounds like you have a short in the speaker wires somewhere, or the wire is entirely too small for the power you are running.

I would re-run all the speaker wire from the head unit to the doors. use loom or grommets anywhere it passes thru a hole to keep the wire from rubbing off its insulation. you should be able to pickup some 16g, 14g, or 12g from most places, or even walmart.

If Donnie ever finishes my frame design, I may be able to bring my truck out to play. Ven, is planning to do a meet on the tampa side of 60 for everyone semi-local every month.
