I have a kinda pressing issue with my hood--it lifts at speed.
{ My bud has a glass shop, and he replaces a busted front window every week --I don't want to be them}

The problem stems from my cold air..the drivers side corner lifts from the pressure. I hit almost a hundred every mornin-so it is a prob. Audjusted the bumpstops,added rubber contacts all the way up the top/inside of the fender....no bueno.

Been lookin and searchin for two years now. Considered hoodpins...but a) they would look lame b) would look lame.Thought about upside down pins-coming down into the rad support...but how the hell would I pull the cotter pins?

Have considered the latch style, but they are more involved than I really want to cut in my new hood. I have thought about flipping the hinges so it would open to the front, but the radiator support just doesn't offer much.

Something like elec door poppers maybe?
Any help would be a perch a tated!
Pork:confused:

front corner or back corner? have you tried adjusting the hinges or latch?

The front corners ---basically pushing up and I'm afraid the latch isn't gonna hold. It kinda flops side to side...up and away from the bumps. Ive even tried a foam& rubber weatherstriping! Just like the older chevvies...and my bud keeps sending me pix of chivvy hoods that flip up-smashing the windsheild and making for a NOT good time.
The new(05+) hinges and rudimentary to saw the least-the only way to align is the two bolts (on either side) that bolts the hood mechanisms to the hood itself.

Have looked at doing another latch or two in the corners...but a lack of metal,limited core support kinda make this more than diffikult.
Thanks Mr. Scotty--any ideas are appreciated!

how high are the corners coming up. Most hoods will do that at high speeds. Mine does the same around 80 +. You'll be fine, its not going anywhere. Keep the latch greased and make sure its secured after each time you open hood.

yeah I hear you--and you're right.
but let me put it this way..
I had a 71 and a 72 Dodge Dart Swinger..both in full drag. Those hoods were so thin you could flex'em from corner to corner. The hinges on those were sprung and they would move all sorts of action...so I hood pinned the 71 for safety.
This truck has both beat... it is more than noticable. So much to lose.

On the up side--DID YOU GET THE NEW MT??????? How bout that neat looking fiberglass hoody?? I don't much care for fg and dont really need a snorkleyscoop with or without ram-airsish...but that looks sharp huh!
