Ok so not many of you know that I been in the process of building my fronty for about 3 years gone through many stages and air systems. Well it is now in the stages of a complete redo. The progress has been slow so dont expect to see updates everyday. I usually dont even worry about this type of promotion however why not. Below is some pics of the tuck you can see some earlier summer late spring pics of the same truck in the show yo fronty section. So this way I am not filling up space with the same pics. Anyways here:
Truck is a 99 nissan frontier, Has had the xterra front end on it for 2 years been shaved other then door handles for a long time.
This project is including the following:
Cando arms to yota ball joints for yota spindels and hubs, yota rear
dual batterys side mounted to the frame
gas tank moved behind axle
all air stuff moved under the bed
sheet metal bed
stock floor body drop
all work performed by sosick in sicklerville nj
so as he updates i will update
Right now it is being mocked up with 18's but with a tire that matches a 20inch wheel and tire the 18s will be my dailys and the 20s for show.

yeah I dont know how fast this build will go. I am a over the road truck driver so I am gone 3 weeks at a time and have about 2 days off . So I had to pay a shop to do the work. Everytime he send me a updated pic I will put it up. I am thinking I am only going to the rocker though nothing crazy as I still wanna drive it. I know it will be at showfest in may in mississippi.....

nice! ive been wanting to do can-do arms with the yota balljoints for a long time on my harbody, but my buddy recently built me a set of uppers that will allow me to lay 22's when i get to that point... they turned out really nice!

98frontier
09-09-2009, 12:46 AM
I'm buying those lowers!!!!
Did you have to loose your lower control arm bushing?(the ones that are pressed into the frame) or did you use the factory ones and get a new bolt sent by steve?

1lownismo
09-09-2009, 01:13 AM
those are 98- frontier tubulars they set you back a pretty penny I dont know how they are going in I had them sent directly to the shop. I guess he will tell me but who ever has done the tubular cando arms in the hardbody can chime in. As for the bronco well that is a doored bronco...I am not doing anything on the truck it is a shop in jersey this is his myspace link: he has tons of pics there...of the other builds

Nice. Thought i was looking at my build thread! Lol! Looks good bro! I've been doing mine myself and its still taking along ass time. Been in the garage about as much as I can without causing the wife to divorce me. Lol! Cant say I didnt warn her when we met (or at least that is the excuse I use anyway)

11-24-2009, 12:07 AM
So.. with the can do arms. Do you run front shocks? I was looking at getting them for my HB.

1lownismo
11-24-2009, 12:10 AM
I am running front shocks but they arent in the picture yet....I am having them build this truck as tough as can be so I can drive it to shows no matter where they are so that includes 1/4 frame rails, shocks front and rear and upgraded brakes. I want it to be as hassle free as a regular truck...

yeah well mine is ready to divorce me from the expense lol....

So.. with the can do arms. Do you run front shocks? I was looking at getting them for my HB.

you SHOULD run shocks no matter what. I'm sure I'm going to get someone saying that they dont run them and they have kick-ass ride quality but the bull-shit card will get pulled.

97redhardbody
11-24-2009, 12:22 AM
yeah.. thats what I was thinking cuz I remember on Trucks they didnt show them putting front shocks on that HB.

I had Re5's on the front of mine without shocks and even with the higher air pressure of a Re5 it was still bouncy as hell. I hated it and you look stupid when you hit a small bump and your front end bounces for half a mile afterward.

No shit! I hate that! I feel like such a dumbass when I'm bouncin down the road. Always run shocks!!! How do you like those cando arms? They look like a solid design to me.

so now I have the yota drop spindels in wheel looks much better not cambered as much, Also ordered my tiny clutch master to get that solved ordered all my exhaust next on the list is front and rear disc brakes...

1lownismo
03-02-2010, 11:59 PM
I have a stock bed for it now which is untouched planning on adding just a rollpan to it and setting it up for a tilt bed woohoo...The only downside is the place that was building it backed out cause it was to much work so he took the 4500 and asked for more and handed me a unfinished truck although I have no idea what level of finished it is at.... So far:
3/4 frame stock floor
can do arms
yota spindles and hubs and rear axle
18x7 rims
day racing (wilwood) clutch master moved
tubbed in front for 20s
all new bag setup
fuel cell
new lower 4 link bars
bag on bars
new electric fan for the radiator
rear frame is also air tank
shocks all the way around
It is alot I admit but I paid 4500 and still purchased all the parts
these are the most current pics:

yeah 2x3 on its side is scarry but max fish says it works so ill let it slide....I will get pics when i get it back...i plan on doing what I can as fast as I can I work on the road so I am never there to touch it so I we will see what happens

i think it should be ok..... but i sure wouldnt go draggin or anything.

1lownismo
03-03-2010, 11:55 PM
not planning on dragging it at all...but he said it would be strong so i hope so ill find out soon enough I plan on doing more reinforcment when i get it back...

Plus it is really thick i cant remember what thickness it is 1/4 or thicker i forget its been so long since i seen it

sparkinframe
03-04-2010, 03:47 AM
why would the 2X3 be weaker positioned with the 3" part facing down?

DAZE752
03-04-2010, 04:03 AM
ok try bending a 2x4 with the 2" part up and try it with the 4" up youll find that its easier to bend it with the 4" part up

1lownismo
04-11-2010, 01:27 PM
well i know the green ranger down in texas the frame is built like mine and he drives it so I am not totally worried about it but If I do end up wanting to drag which I doubt I still have a set of Ti blocks sitting on my porch...

ya i noticed it too i am going over there when i get home but it may be to late i know my bars were short and that could be part of it i hope i will have to see what it looks like at ride height i cant imagine the driveshaft being shorter then it was. I know i am running a yota rear but who knows ill find out when i can. hopefully everyone likes it when its done i am going to do something diffrent then my rendering so i hope it turns out nice.

I still have the yota drive shaft I may be able to save it without haveing to redo alot maybe by mateing the yota to the nissan shaft and just getting longer bars hopefully that does it..

About time I just dont want this to fade I know im not working on it myself. But pointers are always good. this is my first true nissan build I had a 720 longbed that I static dropped. But this is a complete build so the more info I get the better. I already addressed the wheel issue. So anythng else helps. The guy building it hasnt ever done a nissan so that is why I look forward to it.

hardbodylwb
12-13-2010, 01:06 AM
I cant give you any criticism on your bag setup or your welds cause i know nothing about it but what i do know is it looks like you have a pretty straight body and have built an awesome truck...keep it up

whats getting done now?

Looks good, I really like the X front.

Are you going to be keeping those wheels?
Just personal preference, but they look just a tad small.

1lownismo
12-13-2010, 05:43 AM
the wheels are 18s with 45 or 50 series tires cant remember off hand but it is setup for 20s. The 18s because of the larger tire were going to be the dailys but depending how much im able to drive it I may ut the 20s on it and thats that. The funny thing the 17'S looked huge on it when it was just bagged.
the front end has been on it for 4 years I am planning on doing some tweeks to the front in the spring.

No updates yet just redid the driveshaft bearing. Have to mount everything and run wires and hoses. However thinking of throwing the xterra headlights and grille in the for sale pile. They are modified to use the frontier core. Cant officially post them up till I take pics but you see them here. I am on my cell during the week... The grille is flat black with a billet insert.

Ok look for some updates within the next month on this finally. I know there hasnt been many updates but the wheel not centered was addressed and fixed. Also have bed all sheetmetal'd lets see changed up rear skin on cali combo. Added more rails for rigidness. Just really pushing to get it done. Ill put pics up soon.
