ok i got a 95 hardbody , when i got it it was running right , dude said it needed a MAF sensor (truck didnt have one on it when i got it)
i bought one off ebay , not 100% sure its good , but guy was parting his truck out on there , neway i put it on there and still does the same thing , i also cleaned it with maf cleaner
this is what my truck is doin:
at idle it seems to run fine , it will rev up to 1700 rpm with no problem , when you first crank it up ,
once it gets to 1700 rpm it acts like it has a rev limiter , wich to me i thought would be the maf
after it runs for about a hour or so it gets to where it wont hardly run , it wont take the gas atall when you are tryin to take off from a stop , it will still rev up fine in nuetral, it just wont hardly pull itself
the check engine light is on , i have tryed to read the codes twice and ended up clearing the code , so if someone could tell me how im suposed to read em then i will get the codes so we can go from there
and is there neway to check a MAF sensor?
.........THANKS IN ADVANCE

are you running the stock filter on there or some sort of intake?

sounds like a possible failing fuel pump!
i agree sounds like a fuel delievery problem

check the plugs see what they look like and u said that it wont rev higher than 1700? have u checked the fuel pressure? could be an igniter. is the engine bone stock no emmisions removal or ne thing. tps could be out of adjustment or just bad test everything.

that pic was b4 the maf was installed
prob fuel pump or even a wiring going to the fuel pump..... ive had a wire get cut from the fuel pump.. thing ran fine idle , then when hit the gas it would die or sputter, but then idle fine.. come find out it was a wire that got cut...
so i say wires or even fuel pump...

I would say its your intake. The maf is very sensitive and causes problems when you change the intake from stock. I would try putting on the stock intake.

im leaning toward what ronnie said or just a bad maf. possibly bad wiring, download the fsm from phat20g.com and use the ohm meter, thats the best way to do it man. my car just did that same thing a second ago maf got unpluged and it would rev to 1700-2000 and run pig rich.

i put the stock intake on it off of one of my buddys trucks and it still does the same thing , so im goin in the morning to barrow his maf to see if that fixes it ... nemore sugestions

little metal thing that sits over the 2 studs on the throttle body. it diverts air around and into the maf supposedly.

yup without that truck runs like shit, jerks, stalls, and even if your maf sensor is working properly the air isnt getting directed there.try it out let us know.

ok ive put the intake , and that little metal thing , and a maf off my buddys truck , and it still dos the same thing
im sur i was pretty hard on the motor , but i reved it to 1700 when it starts cuttin in and out , and then sprayed it with starting fluid , and it reved up like it should of , so now im thinkin its deff goin to be something to do with the fuel
is there a way i can check the fuel pump to see if its pumping enuff presure , and where is the fuel filter suposed to be , i have looked from the tank to the fuel rail and cant find it , i think some one has taken it off and nevr put one back on
